Spreading Christmas Joy: The Coffee House, Winsford Opens Its Doors on Christmas Day!

This Christmas, The Coffee House, Winsford, is doing something truly special—opening its doors to bring festive cheer to those who might otherwise be spending the day alone.

After heartfelt conversations with regular customers, Winsford Manager Lynsey Rankine recognised just how much a simple gathering could mean during the festive season. “We didn’t open on Christmas Day last year, but it was clear how much our locals wanted us to. That’s why this year, we’ve decided to do something truly special and make the day memorable for everyone,” Lynsey shared

Thanks to the support of our dedicated team, who have volunteered their time on Christmas Day, 14 cherished customers, aged 60 to 87, will be treated to a full Christmas dinner, complete with turkey, gammon, beef, and all the trimmings. Guests will also receive hampers filled with chocolates, toiletries, and small gifts to make the day truly memorable.

This community effort wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of others:

  • Asda has donated mince pies, crackers, and juices.

  • Argos provided a £100 Sainsbury’s voucher to help with food purchases.

  • Members of a local church have lent Bain Maries to ensure all food is served warm and donated gifts for the attendees.

  • Celine Smith from Gilbert’s Laser Rust Removals brought in lots of lovely presents.

  • Nikki Cain Catering Service is generously providing delicious treats.

  • Joe and Tilly Desserts stepped in to add a sweet touch to the occasion.

  • Bar 4 contributed another Bain Marie to assist with food service.

  • Even smaller, thoughtful items such as napkins and tablecloths from Pound Shop have added to the day’s festivities.

  • Many other anonymous contributors have also helped, with gifts and donations coming from far and wide.

“The response has been overwhelming. This isn’t just about serving food—it’s about creating a place where our customers feel part of something bigger, especially on a day that can feel so isolating for some,” Lynsey said.

The day will be hosted by Lynsey, along with her team members Mike, Angela, and Lynsey’s sister, ensuring every guest feels welcome and cared for. They’ve even organised transport for less-abled attendees, with their families stepping in to provide pick-up and drop-off services.

As an independent company since 2011, The Coffee House takes pride in being at the heart of local communities. “We love bringing life back to the forgotten high streets, offering a warm, welcoming space to eat, drink, and relax,” Lynsey added.
This Christmas Day, The Coffee House, Winsford will open from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, serving food at noon, and spreading holiday cheer to those who need it most this Christmas.
